(。ェ)The percentage of modulation of a marker beacon shall be 95 percent, and the tolerance shall not exceed 4 percent.
(ェ)The total harmonic content of the modulated carrier wave shall not exceed 15 percent.
(ェ。)The identification codes for the respective marker beacons shall be as follows:
I. For an outer marker: continuous dashes
II. For a middle marker: alternate dots and dashes
III. For an inner marker: continuous dots
(ェ「)The keying rate for dashes constituting identification codes shall be 2 dashes per second, and the tolerance shall not exceed 15 percent.
(ェ」)The keying rate for dots constituting identification codes shall be 6 dots per second, and the tolerance shall not exceed 15 percent.
(ェ、)Two sets of transmitters shall be provided so that either one can be used by switching over when necessary.
(ェ・)A dummy antenna system shall be provided.
(ェヲ)A standby isolated power unit shall be provided.
(ェァ)Monitoring equipment shall be provided.
(ェィ)The monitoring equipment shall consist of an automatic monitoring system which is designed to provide information to the designated control points as soon as possible when any of the following situations occur, and with the additional function of automatic and simultaneous switchover to the standby transmitter, and the further function of terminating the transmissions of the marker beacon when said situations or malfunctions persist even after switching over to the standby equipment:
I. When the percentage of modulation of the modulated radio wave fails to comply with the requirements prescribed in subparagraph (9).
II. A reduction in the antenna output power to less than 50 percent.
III. A malfunction in the monitoring function of the monitoring equipment itself.
(9)DME shall have the following performance, structure, etc.:
a)DME shall be such that it is capable of transmitting the response signal and identification signal in reply to the interrogation signal by an aircraft DME system or TACAN system, for the purpose of providing guidance regarding distance from the facility to an aircraft in flight.
b)The response signal, identification signal and random pulse pairs shall be a pulse-paired radio frequency carrier.
c)The pulse shall meet the requirements prescribed in subparagraph 7 item (c).
d)The pulse interval shall be 12 microseconds on the X channel and 30 microseconds on the y channel, and the tolerance shall be not more than 0.25 microseconds.
e)The difference between the first peak envelope power and the second
